    Abstract:

The biofilm of sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) is regarded as the main culprit of the microbially influenced corrosion, but it is also the key to the microbial remediation of heavy metal-polluted water. The formation and regulation mechanisms of biofilm are very important for SRB control and utilization. In this study, we summarized the research progresses on SRB biofilm, including extracellular components of biofilm and biofilm control factors, and elucidated the role of regulators in the biofilm formation.
