    Abstract:

[Background] Volvopluteus, a member of Pluteaceae, has only four species in the world currently. [Objective] To investigate the resources of macrofungi in northeast China. [Methods] Samples of macrofungi were collected, their morphology was observed and described in detail. Their DNA was extracted, rDNA ITS sequences were determined, and the molecular phylogenetic tree was constructed based on maximum likelihood and Bayesian inference. [Results] Among the specimens collected from 2019 to 2020 in Dunhua city, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province, six V. michiganensis were found, which had not been found in China before. In the phylogenetic analysis, V. michiganensis collected from China was grouped into a branch with the type specimen. [Conclusion] V. michiganensis is a new record species in China.
