As a new teaching concept, ideological and political education in the courses has been widely respected in recent years. The key point is to integrate ideological and political education into the teaching of various courses and to advocate a new concept called “invisible education”. In this study, based on the current situation of ideological and political courses, we analyze the necessity of integrating ideological and political education into Food Microbiology, and focus on the ways to explore ideological and political elements. By combining knowledge points of teaching materials with ideological and political education, we achieve to consolidate professional knowledge, strengthen ideological and political education, cultivate students’ scientific spirit and humanistic spirit, and increase cultural self-confidence. In addition, as a core course of Food Science and Engineering, Food Microbiology requires the combination of theory and practice. This article summarizes the practical effects of the course, explores the entry point of the professional knowledge of ideological and political education in this course, and provides some reference for an effective teaching method in food specialty.
