In order to cultivate medical students’ professional literacy, social responsibility and enhance their comprehensive abilities, an exploration and reform have been given to the teaching mode of pathogen biology and immunology. By integrating the concept of “service learning” into the course, we not only emphasize to pass along “systematic” basic medical knowledge, but also cultivate their professional literacy, creativity and humanities. Finally, the “service learning” practical teaching mode of pathogen biology and immunology was constructed.
