    Abstract:

    Since 2017, the Experimental Course of Microbiology, has been designed as one of the key courses for undergraduates in China Agricultural University, and was emphatically provided with financial and human support to promote its development and reformation and the improvement of quality of teaching/studying. This article introduced a series of reform measures we have taken in the teaching of Experimental Course of Microbiology, including application of staged teaching mode and “Fromm’s Expectation Theory”, instillation the concept of “aseptic operation” and enhancement its related technologies, refining the operation steps and implementation of “person-to-person” assessment, application of biostatistical mapping and information dissemination platforms, encouragement and tutoring undergraduates to participate in experimental competitions, etc. Our reform measures have achieved good results. In addition, we also put forward some specific suggestions for future class teaching of experimental teaching to promote its continuous development and improvement.
