    Abstract:

Nitrite reductase (NiR, EC1.7.2.1) is a kind of enzyme that catalyzes the reduction of nitrite (NIT). NiR is a key enzyme in the natural nitrogen cycle, which can degrade nitrite into NO or NH3. The classification, structural characteristics, catalytic mechanism and current application fields of nitrite reductase are reviewed in this report, which provides reference for further study of nitrite reductase.
