    Abstract:

    PAD (presentation-Assimilation-Discussion) class is a new teaching model which combines the advantages of lecture and discussion. In this paper, we explored the application of PAD class in Microbiology teaching. This new method encouraged students' active learning and produced good learning effects. Moreover, it increased both student-student interaction and teacher-student interaction in and out of classroom, promoted critical thinking, expanded teaching time and space. All these made our teaching being more attractive to students. PAD class is good for strengthening the connotation-oriented development of higher education which focus on the improvement of teaching and leaning quality.
