This review summarizes the biosynthesis pathway of lysine in fungi and the key gene in the pathway, saccharopine dehydrogenase. The de novo synthesis pathway of lysine was introduced in detail, and the mechanism and physicochemical properties of saccharopine dehydrogenase was described, which are aimed to provide information and ideas for exploring lysine biosynthesis pathway and genes in the pathway.
