Abstract:
Pathogenic bacterial infection poses a serious threat to human health. Intestinal pathogenic bacteria that contain a Type III secretion system (T3SS) can use the T3SS to inject effectors into host cells and manipulate multiple signaling pathways, including apoptosis, autophagy and inflammatory responses pathways, in order to evade host defense system and enhance their infectivity and pathogenicity. Here, we have reviewed the latest research progress in the regulation of host NF-κB and MAPK pathways involved in inflammatory responses by the T3SS effectors of intestinal bacterial pathogens.
