Abstract:Microbiology, an important branch of biology, is the required core course for Biology or related undergraduates in university, aiming to provide basic, systematic and cutting-edge microbiology knowledge for students. With the development of high-throughput sequencing, mass spectrometry and chip technology, life sciences evolved into the era of big data with enormous multiple omics (genomics, transcriptome, proteomics, immune omics and metabolomics etc.), which presented great challenge for the content or frame of microbiology. In this paper, we discussed how to reform the domestic classical microbiology teaching material within the context of big data, and how to integrate the omics into the current framework of teaching material or reform new teaching material framework.
