Abstract:In recent years, the regulation mechanism of lipid metabolism by gut microbiota has become a focus of research. Changes in gut microbiota have been discovered in the mouse models of obesity and lipid metabolism disorders. Adjusting gut microbiota by fecal microbiota transplantation and probiotics can alleviate lipid metabolism disorders. This review focuses on the regulatory effect of gut microbiota on lipid metabolism and expounds the regulatory effects on cardiovascular diseases, nervous system diseases, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, obesity, and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Finally, this paper explores the therapeutic prospects of regulating gut microbiota in the treatment of lipid metabolism disorders.
